Eat Out, Eat Well in East Sussex

To help promote better nutrition and increase healthier food choices for consumers, district councils in East Sussex a new project, Eat Out Eat Well, was launched in February 2014.

Catering establishments, including restaurants, cafes, public houses, staff canteens and school kitchens, that offer customers healthier food choices will be eligible to receive an award in recognition of this. Depending on the number of healthier choices, businesses can receive a bronze, silver or gold award, which they can display on the premises to inform customers.

The scheme is supported by the Health Improvement Team at East Sussex County Council, and will be operated by environmental health practitioners at the district councils.
